The 3rd REG Carboot sale was a great success despite the wet weather. The rain just held off long enough for some good sales to be made and REG raised over £250 on the day.
Slitheroe Bridge
REG has had a new planter placed at Slitheroe Bridge along with a new bench. The planter was previously sited on the corner of Pike End Road and was placed there to prevent Turnpike customers parking on the grass verge on that corner. We had discussions with the Turnpike’s owner and he kindly funded the knee rail which is a much better solution to the problem. We had our planter re-sited at the Slitheroe Bridge along with a new bench. We are also looking at other possible improvements for this area.
Yorkshire in Bloom Judging
REG have again entered Yorkshire in Bloom Neighborhood Award. Our area will be judged on Monday 11th July and we hope to improve on previous years.
Plant Pot Recycling
Do you feel guilty about throwing away your plastic plant pots? Is your garden shed bursting at the seams with empty pots you cannot bear to throw away? If you answer yes to either then we now have the answer - Plant pot recycling! REG have arranged to have two bins placed at St. Johns School for you to recycle your plant pots and we have arranged for Jacob Tooby at New Farm Nurseries, Norland to take the pots for reuse.
